About Dean |
I grew up in the small town of Green Lake, Wisconsin around my of relatives and had an amazing group of teachers, mentors and especially friends. I attended Drake University in Des Moines, Iowa where I earned a degree in chemistry. I went on to study medicine and earned my MD at the Medical College of Wisconsin in Milwaukee. This was followed by 3 year Family Practice Residency Program at St. Mary’s Hospital in Milwaukee, finishing in 1992.
After my training, I was a traveling/locum tenens physician for six years hired for temporary placement assignments in areas of need. This gave me the opportunity to work in places I always wanted to visit. I worked in 13 different states, mostly in the Western U.S. including Southeast Alaska & Molokai, Hawaii. I also had the great fortune to work in various towns in rural Queensland, Australia for 6 months. For the next two years I worked as an urgent care physician at Virginia Mason Medical Center on Bainbridge Island, WA.. Following that I participated in the formation of an integrative medical clinic. In 2002, I started a solo, collaborative practice within Seattle Healing Arts, an incredible and well respected integrative medical clinic created by Dr. Fernando Vega MD. In June 2018 I moved my practice to Lake City Professional Center Suite 90, with a group of like-minded colleagues. I enjoy spending time with my family and friends sharing meals, conversation and laughter. My soul is refreshed when I am outside in the beauty of the natural world; hiking, fly fishing or sitting quietly in awe. |
